This is a story about Ella, one of the Amazons who guarded the queen's castle.
She was very proud and was sure warrior girls were above all other people. She treated all service staff as scum.
One day the storekeeper figured out how to get revenge. She heard Ella had broken her sword, and she'll come to ask for a new one. She hid all good swords she had. When Ella came, the storekeeper gave her an old and rusty sword. The warrior girl was shocked - her commander would punish her if she sees Ella's weapon was in such bad condition.
Ella demanded to give her another sword, but the storekeeper answered there were no good swords in her posession except one, but it was a special reserve for senior commanders.
The warrior girls was desperate. She begged to give her that sword. The proud girl even got on her knees.
But the storekeeper refused, and Ella left the storehouse almost crying.
Of course her weapon condition was noticed, and not by her commander, but by the queen herself.
She ordered Ella to show the sword, and she was furious.
The girl tried to explain, but the queen said there was no excuse for a warrior girl to have a weapon in such condition. She ordered Ella to take a rope in the storehouse and to hang herself, so other warriors could see what happens to those who break the rules. If the girl didn't do it herself, she'd be hanged by force.
The storekeeper gave Ella the best rope with great pleasure.
